Additional science chemistry consists of 5 large chapters:
Structure and bonding: ionic, covalent, metallic bonding
Structure and properties: giant ionic, covalent and metallic structures, simple molecules, polymers and nanotechnology
Calculations: moles, percentage yield, empirical formula, reversible reactions* and analytical instruments*
Rates and energy: Collision theory, factors affecting rate, exo/endothermic reactions*, energy transfers*
Electrolysis and Salts: acids and bases, making salts, electrolysis and its uses.
Some of these topics are repeated in more detail in unit 3 and have been indicated with an asterisk (*)
